Hingham Shipyard to Hold Boat Show This Weekend

Before boating season begins on May 1, the Hingham Shipyard will hold the 5th annual South Shore in Water Boat Show on April 27-28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine.

"Since this is our fifth year more people are aware of the show and are asking about it,”  Rudzinsky said.

The boat show will bring South Shore area boat dealers and vendors together to showcase over 20 different boat lines.

The free event will also include a raffle, music and entertainment, kids activities, and balloons.

Boating Season Begins May 1

It may only be Spring but the Hingham Shipyard Marinas is already taking orders for slips and moorings this summer.

Boating season begins May 1 at the Hingham Shipyard and local residents can now purchase any of the 500 slips which range anywhere from 16-60 feet  at the Shipyard.

The Shipyard Marinas also offer 100 moorings as well as temporary dockage for vessels of all sizes. 

Dockmaster Vinny Ditullio said boats will be placed on the slips in the next couple of weeks and the season will officially begin on May 1.

This season, Cherie Rudzinsky, Hingham Shipyard Marinas manager said the shipyard is offering a 3-month dockage special—June, July, and August up to 24 feet.

"It is a great price for folks to get onto a dock at the height of the season," Rudzinsky said. "Boaters are eager to get back on the water—especially after this winter! They’re spending on recreation again, from slips sales and boat sales to charters."

This will be the second year, the shipyard has a brand new boat lift and over the past few years they have added brand new docks.

The Shipyard Marinas is also offer restaurant dockage, so customers of Alma Nove, Hingham Beer Works, Wahlburgers, Zendo, Union Fish Seafood & Raw Bar and Red Mango can dock their vessel while eating dinner.
