South Shore Conservatory Holds Auditions for 2016 Summer Arts Programs
Summer performing arts programs for students of all ages
South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announces auditions for their summer 2016 performing arts programs for students of all ages at their Hingham campus.
Wind and percussion students in grades five through twelve are invited to audition for SSC’s Summer Music Festival two-week wind ensemble camp, which includes Summer Wind Ensemble and Festival Wind Ensemble for high school and college students, and its new one-week All-Star Band program for students in elementary and middle school. Summer Music Festival students perform in high quality wind band, chamber and jazz ensembles with musicians from all across Southeastern Massachusetts. Placement auditions will be held at the Hingham campus, at One Conservatory Drive, on April 30 and May 14. Summer Vocal Institute, a camp for singers age seven through eighteen to discover their vocal potential and gain the tools for becoming more confident performers, holds placement auditions for this year’s program on Saturday, May 21, 10 am – 3 pm at SSC’s Hingham campus at One Conservatory Drive. South Shore Conservatory, recently recognized as a national model for arts education by the National Guild for Community Arts Education, is celebrating nearly 45 years of enriching the lives of South Shore residents through music and the arts. SSC was founded as a not-for-profit community music school in 1970 and now has two beautiful campuses in Hingham and Duxbury. Currently serving over 3500 students of all ages and abilities, SSC is the largest community school for the arts in Massachusetts. Students participate in more than 50 diverse programs in music, dance and drama.
