South Shore Conservatory Jazz/Rock/Pop Musicians Present a Sunday Morning Jazz Brunch
The first preview event of the annual Hingham Jazz Festival in September
South Shore Conservatory (SSC) invites jazz lovers to the first Hingham Jazz Festival (HJF) preview event this year, a jazz brunch on Sunday, March 6 from 11 am to 1 pm, in Cox Hall at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham.
Featuring the varied talents of SSC’s own jazz/rock/pop (JRP) department faculty members, this feast for the senses showcases familiar melodies that weave in and out of jazzy favorites, as well as a fabulous array of delicious brunch items such as a luscious egg dish, classic crispy bacon, fresh baked breakfast pastries, and everyone’s favorite, Bloody Marys. Families and friends are invited to sit together and chat during the buffet brunch, or simply use the moment to appreciate the glorious sounds traditional jazz.
JRP faculty members performing include Elan Mehler, piano, Chris Rathbun, bass, John Vanderpool, saxophone, and Ted Sajdyk, drums.

Tickets to the HJF Jazz Brunch are available at http://www.sscmusic.org/hingham-jazz-festival.html or by calling 781.749.7565, ext. 20. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children age 12 and under.
Those who want to hear more of SSC’s JRP musicians can catch them at a second Hingham Jazz Festival preview event, called Jazz at the Academy, on Saturday, April 23, 7 pm at Derby Academy, 56 Burditt Street in Hingham. SSC’s JRP Faculty Quartet performs in Hingham Square on Saturday, May 21 as part of the town’s Taste of Hingham event. Hingham Jazz Festival 2016 runs September 24 and 25. About South Shore Conservatory
South Shore Conservatory, recently recognized as a national model for arts education by the National Guild for Community Arts Education, is celebrating nearly 45 years of enriching the lives of South Shore residents through music and the arts. SSC was founded as a not-for-profit community music school in 1970 and now has two beautiful campuses in Hingham and Duxbury.
