South Shore Conservatory Opens Registration for Spring Programs
A variety of arts enrichment opportunities available in age appropriate offerings

South Shore Conservatory (SSC) has opened spring registration for a wide range of enrichment classes in music, movement and drama for students of all ages. Spring semester begins for most classes on January 24, 2015.
New this semester, SSC offers visual art classes, taught by Paul Papadonis, for students age 8 to 17. Students ages 8 to 11 can explore Cartooning, while those ages 11 to 13 are invited to take Painting: Á World of Color. High school students preparing for college can receive instruction in Portfolio Building. Other new classes include Fid-o-lin With Friends for beginning to intermediate violin students, and Songwriters’ and Composers’ Society for students age 12 and up who are interested in writing their own music.
Continuing classes for students age 10 to 18 include: Mezzo Voice Class, Group Guitar Class for ages 10 and up, Rock Band, Pop Rock Vocal Tech starting the week of January 26 and Act II drama workshop, Saturday Stage Club and Musical Theatre Workshop starting on February 7.

The new SSC Dance Department offers lively classes for all ages in Creative Dance, Hip Hop, Ballet and Teen/Adult Beginner Ballet Class.
New classes for adult students include Intro to Guitar, Intro to Violin, Intro to Piano and Adult Jazz Workshop. Ongoing classes for adults include Golden Voices and Woman Song.

In addition to the classes listed above, the following classes are offered for students ages 0 to 9: Music Sprouts, Drum & Sing, Time Train, Yoga Magic, SmARTy Dance programs which include Girls Groove, and Hip Hop for Boys, all starting the week of January 24, Piano FUNdamentals, and Primo Voice Class starting January 26, Curtain Going Up and Act I drama workshop, starting on February 2, and Music Together® starting on March 16.
Many early childhood programs offer demo classes at a free Family Arts Festival in Hingham and Duxbury on January 24. Students of all ages can participate in classes and experiment with musical instruments at an instrument petting zoo.
Classes are offered at both South Shore Conservatory campuses. Classes at the Hingham campus are located at One Conservatory Drive, Hingham. Duxbury campus offerings are located at SSC’s Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street, Duxbury.
