South Shore Conservatory Pianists Take Home Prizes in the Talented Young Musician Competition

Sixth-grader Aiden Cui and seventh-grader Ina Cui of Norwell

South Shore Conservatory (SSC) congratulates SSC pianists Aiden Cui and Ina Cui of Norwell who competed in the Talented Young Musician Association’s 12th Annual Russian Music Competition held in Boston in early November. Aiden won first place and performed December 5 at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Ina won second place and performed December 5 at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Aiden Cui began studying piano with his mother, HuiMin Wang at age five. Earlier this year he was awarded first prize in the annual SSC Piano Solo Competition, and has won top prizes in past SSC concerto competitions. He received third prize at last year’s Russian Music Competition and performed at DiMenna Center for Classical Music, New York City in November, 2014. Aiden has performed in Symphony Hall, and was a guest performer for the Plymouth Public Library Concert Series. He enjoys listening to a variety of styles of music, likes visit New York City with his family, and loves to skateboard and play basketball. Aiden participates at judo tournaments regularly, winning top prizes in his age group. He is a sixth grader at Norwell Middle School, and is a high honor roll student.

Ina Cui started studying piano at age five with her mother, HuiMin Wang. Ina also played at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York City last year. She is a top prize winner at South Shore Conservatory’s annual Concerto Competition, and has won first prize in their Piano Solo Competition multiple times. Ina has performed at Symphony Hall in Boston, and has been featured twice at the Plymouth Public Library Concert Series. In addition to her piano studies, Ina is a judo competitor, and won a silver medal for her age group at the 2014 Jimmy Pedro’s Judo Challenge. She loves Brazilian jujitsu, volleyball and traveling. Ina is a seventh grader at Norwell Middle School in Norwell MA, and is a high honor roll student.

South Shore Conservatory, (SSC) has been providing access to and enriching the lives of South Shore residents through music and the arts for 45 years.
