South Shore Conservatory's Concert Series Presents SSC Debuts

Audiences invited enjoy the talents of SSC's latest additions to its stellar faculty

South Shore Conservatory’s renowned Conservatory Concert Series (CCS) starts its 2015/16 season with SSC Debuts, a concert showcasing the Conservatory’s newest superstar faculty members, Sunday, October 11, 4 pm at SSC’s Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street in Duxbury, and Sunday, October 18, 4 pm at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham.

CCS concerts feature the extraordinary talents of the Conservatory’s faculty of almost 100 teachers. The series is generously sponsored in part by Boston Private. Admission to the concert is free, advancing SSC’s mission of expanding access to arts education and performance.

SSC Debuts performers will present music they love while introducing themselves to the SSC community and friends. Each faculty member will to speak briefly about themselves and their selections. Repertoire includes music from the classical period through today’s contemporary sounds.

SSC faculty members performing include Elan Mehler and Xixi Zhou on piano, David Moorhead on guitar, Mark Leuning on vocals, Susanna Johnson on viola, Sassan Haghighi on cello and Peter Bianca on clarinet. Pianist Jonathan Roberts, who has been with SSC since 2010, is the collaborative accompanist.

Following the performance, the audience is invited stay, enjoy free refreshments, and visit with the musicians to learn more about them.
