South Shore Conservatory's Wacky Wednesdays Family Concert Series Presents Little Groove
Education is at the core of Little Groove's acoustic folk rock

South Shore Conservatory’s (SSC) Wacky Wednesdays family concert series welcomes Little Groove to the Jane Carr Amphitheater, One Conservatory Drive, Hingham, on July 1 at 10 am.
Wacky Wednesdays is one of two series in the Conservatory’s diverse Summer Spotlight outdoor summer entertainment series. WATD is the generous media partner for this family concert series. Summer Spotlight also includes Evenings Under the Stars Saturday evening concerts. Little Groove performs fun, catchy, educational music for children that adults find themselves dancing along to, too! Children love being a part of the musical experience, using their bodies, voices, and instruments to contribute to the music. Little Groove performers Sara Wheeler and Erica Leigh encourage children in the audience to play real instruments such as drums, shakers, and tambourines, while they dance, sing, and groove to songs about playtime, sleeptime, trains, planes, rainbows, pigs, monkeys, butterflies, ducks, and dogs! Parents and caregivers are encouraged to join in the musical experience with their children.
Little Groove singer-songwriter, guitarist, and pianist Sara Wheeler plays acoustic folk rock. Growing up in Michigan, Wheeler studied trumpet and piano, and had written her first song by the time she was 13 years old. Although she was self-taught on piano, she made it her major instrument at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she also studied guitar and voice. At 21, Wheeler moved to Japan and started to tour and travel the world making music. She has toured Japan and Europe several times, once recording at Abby Road with 40 members of the London Symphony Orchestra backing her piano and voice. Her travels have also taken her to Nepal, India, Thailand, and China.
