A Stoughton man was arraigned in Hingham District Court on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol with serious injury and negligence, and negligent driving. The case was continued to Nov. 19.
Police believe Michael W. McKay, 34, of 67 Kim Terrace injured himself and another driver in a three car accident back in February after driving drunk on Route 53, Hingham.
As McKay entered Route 53 from Farm Hills Lane, police said he accelerated rapidly, lost control, and crossed into the oncoming lane, striking a 2002 Lexus ES300 head-on. A third vehicle, a 2003 Ford pick-up truck that was heading eastbound in the right lane, then struck the two vehicles.
