Survivor Tails Animal Rescue to Hold First Annual Rescue Fever Gala
Heatin' up the runway with firefighters and pups!

BOSTON, MA – Every year, between 3 and 4 million animals die in shelters across the United States, simply because they have no where to go. Survivor Tails Animal Rescue aims to bring those numbers down, and in less than two years, we have saved nearly 300 dogs and cats from these lists.
To help support this continuous effort, Survivor Tails will host its First Annual Rescue Fever Gala on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 6–11PM at Florian Hall, 55 Hallet St. in Boston.
The gala, cohosted by Cheryl Fiandaca and Mary Schwager of Channel 7 News, will feature an awards ceremony honoring local firefighters that have gone above and beyond the line of duty to save animals from dire situations. Firefighters from firehouses across MA will walk adoptable dogs down the red carpet to promote them for adoption. Additionally, 20% of the event proceeds will be donated to the Last Call Foundation, while the rest will go to support the mission of Survivor Tails, funding vetting, training, spay/neuter, and a new quarantine facility projected to open in 2015-2016.

“It’s going to be a complete blast! Who doesn’t love heroes and cute dogs!” asks co-founder/co-director Katie Montgomery. “We save animals, and so have many of these firefighters. It’s a celebration of the rescued and their rescuers as well as a celebration of second chances at life.”
The event will also feature live music by Bergmann, beats by DJ Gary Lombard, 3-course meal, photo booth, silent auction and raffle prizes, and many special guests, including the New England Patriots’ Cheerleaders and Pat Patriot, Danielle Murr of WAAF and the Hillman Morning Show, Adam Bagni of WJAR Channel 10 Providence, and canine celebrity Lilly the Hero Pit Bull.
