The Derby Street ice cream shop donated $1 of every medium and large ice cream they sold Thursday to the Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In addition the parlor has been donating $1 to the foundation for every Make-A-Wish star they sold in September.  The stars have been placed all over the ice cream counter and on the wall.

Alexiades was asked by Make-A-Wish to help with the state-wide fundraiser, and being a strong supporter of the foundation and a huge fan of vanilla ice cream, he gladly agreed.

By the end of the day Thursday, Dancewicz said Cold Stone exceeded their store goal and raised a monthly total of $1,241 for Make-A-Wish. They will continue to collect donations until October.

In addition to the store donation, Make-A-Wish volunteer Krista Thurstone was also present to collect donations.
