Two Men Wanted in Jewelry Store Theft
Hingham Police are searching for this man who was caught on video footage stealing earrings worth approximately $5,000.

Hingham Police are looking for two potential suspects that were involved in stealing a pair of earrings worth $4,900 from a Hingham jewelry store last weekend.
The theft occurred at Verge Jewelers on Derby Street around 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, according to the Hingham Police Facebook page.
One male was described as a white, stocky male in his 40s who was 5-foot-6 and wearing a white baseball cap with a “3” on it. He was wearing a red and blue Superbowl XLII wind breaker.

The second was a thin white male in his 50s who was 6 feet tall with “horrible teeth.” The man wore a white baseball cap, a green v-neck sweater, and a brown fabric sport coat or suit jacket.
Police said video footage showed the man in the sports jacket opening the unlocked door on the display counter and stealing a pair of diamonds stud earrings with clusters around the center stone, weighing .50 carats each and worth $4,990.

A store employee also caught the first suspect putting a tray of gold rings in his pocket. The first male gave the rings back without incident when confronted by the store owner, police reported.
The second male told the store owner that his friend was autistic to excuse his behavior, according to police.
