US Rep. Lynch Making Visits Around South Shore

Lynch is becoming acquainted with the Massachusetts 8th congressional district which now includes Hingham.

US Representative Stephen F. Lynch is making visits around the South Shore in order to become acquainted with the new Massachusetts 8th congressional district which includes Hingham.

The South Boston Democrat made an appearance at Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s inauguration, had breakfast with Weymouth Mayor Susan M. Kay, and was at Cohasset’s Special Town Meeting, The Boston Globe reports.

According to the Boston.com article, Lynch is scheduled be at Nantasket Beach to blow the whistle for the start of the Drowned Hogs ocean swim fund-raiser for Hull’s Wellspring Multi-Service Center on Saturday. After the swim, the Congressman will come over to the Nantasket Beach Resort for the  Nantasket Soup & Chowder Festival to sample some of Hull's best soups and chowders.

Lynch is spending as much time as he can on the South Shore.  

Hingham along with neighboring communities, Weymouth, Hull,  Quincy, Cohasset, Scituate and Abington will because of the new congressional redistricting.

Last year Lynch and Keating decided not battle each other for a seat in Congress as from his summer home in Bourne on Cape Cod, to avoid running against the fellow Democrat.
