Veterans Day to be Celebrated Sunday, Observed on Monday
On 11/11 at 11 a.m. Hingham Veterans will be honored at the Town Hall.
The Hingham Veterans’ Council is pleased to announce the itinerary for this year’s Annual Veteran’s Day Observance, formerly called Armistice Day.
Veterans’ Day in Hingham will be celebrated next Sunday in Hingham with an annual breakfast, war memorial and ceremony for veterans.
Although town offices, schools and the library will close on Monday, veterans will be honored on Sunday at the Hingham Town Hall.

On Nov. 11, Hingham military veterans and their families will be given a breakfast at the Hingham Senior Center from 8:30-10:00 a.m.
After the breakfast, veterans can attend a static display of war memorabilia and slideshows which will be available for viewing from 8:30 -10:30 a.m. in the Central Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of Town Hall.

The main event will be the held in the Sanborn Auditorium at Town Hall, beginning promptly at 11 a.m. There will be reserved seating for Military and Veterans.
The event will be moderated by first year Town Moderator Michael Puzo, with music performed by Hingham High School Band. The principal speaker will be Colonel Janet Thompson, US Army (Ret.)
Following the ceremony, there will be a wreath laying ceremony and and Pledge of Allegiance at the Veterans’ Memorial outside Town Hall and Hingham Boy Scouts will be in attendance, as will Honor Guards, and Militia.
