Voice of Boston Red Sox Comes to Hingham

Red Sox radio announcer will sign copies of his new book, "Can you Believe It?" in Hingham.

Red Sox radio announcer Joe Castiglione will be signing copies of his new book on Saturday at the in Hingham.

Castiglione will meet and greet with his fans from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and sign copies of his new book "Can you Believe It?"

"Can you Believe It?," is the famous call Castiglione used when the Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals on October 27, 2004 to win their first World Series in 86 years.

The book is about the legendary broadcaster’s 30 Years of Insider Stories with the Boston Red Sox.

Castiglione joined the Red Sox broadcast team in 1983 and has been with them ever since.  Aside from broadcasting, Castiglione is a lecturer in the department of Communication Studies at Northeastern University, where he teaches a course on Sports Broadcasting and is credited with shaping the voice of Notheaster graduate and Boston Red Sox TV announcer, Don Orsillo.  Castiglione also taught at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.

In 2004, Castiglione published his first and only other book, "Broadcast Rites and Sites: I Saw It on the Radio with the Boston Red Sox"
