Weekend Commuter Rail Service Restored on Old Colony and Greenbush Lines
Weekend commuter rail service will remain in place until Spring 2012.

The MBTA and Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company announced that weekend commuter rail service will be restored on the Old Colony (Plymouth/Kingston & Middleborough/Lakeville branches) and Greenbush lines for the remainder of the 2011-2012 winter beginning Christmas Eve.
Weekend service will remain in place until Spring 2012, when the resumption of track work will necessitate further weekend service suspensions until the project is completed. The project is anticipated to conclude at the end of Summer, 2012, at which point schedules for both lines will return to normal.
