Wine of the Week: 2008 Lyeth Meritage

The store is owned by two brothers. Ralph Hersom, a world class sommelier and Rick Hersom, a local businessman.

This week’s Wine of the Week is a 2008 Lyeth Meritage from Sonoma County.

“Meritage is the name given to California wines made with Bordeaux varietals. It is a blend of 79 percent Merlot, 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 3 percent Cabernet Franc and 3 percent Petit Verdot,” said Hersom. 

If you are looking to break out the grill soon, Hersom said this is a great wine to go with a grilled steak.

Hersom also described this wine as a “very elegantly balanced red wine.”

The price of this wine is quite reasonable. A bottle costs $15.99.
