Wine of the Week: 2009 Marietta Zinfandel

This week’s Wine of the Week in Hingham is 2009 Marietta Zinfandel  which comes from at the .

Ross Hart, Wine Buyer for the store, said this is a great wine for a Fourth of July cookout. 

 “We had this wine open at last Saturday’s tasting and it was a hit," he said Hart "To paraphrase the rock band, the Who’s 'Compilation' album' this wine is Meaty Beefy Big and Bouncy and it is destined to rock your July Forth grill fest.”

If you like berries and fruit, this is the wine for you. “It is at the very least robust with plenty of the flavors from the berry family," Hart said. "Raspberries both red and black, blueberries and then a touch of red cherry to brighten the load of the flavors, hidden under all of the wonderful fruit, there is cracked black peppercorns and barely perceptible, but firm tannins to clean your palate.”
