Wine of the Week: Pineau des Charentes

This week’s Wine of the Week comes from . 

The store is owned by two brothers. Ralph Hersom, a world class sommelier and Rick Hersom, a local businessman.

This week we are featuring a new fortified wine, Pineau des Charentes.

“Pineau des Charentes is an intriguing blend of white wine (100% Ugni Blanc) and Cognac eau-de-vie, with an alcohol level of 17 percent,” Hersom explained. 

He also recommended to serve this wine very cold as an aperitif. “That will wow your taste buds,” he said.
