Each week we will be featuring a different Wine of the Week.

This weeks Wine of the Week comes from Hingham Liquors, which has been around since 1934.

Although there have been a few different owners over the years, it is currently owned by  Joe Ierardi.

Today we are talking about Steven Vincent Crimson 2009.

Owner, Ierardi described this wine as a very well balanced blend.

“ [It's] 75 percent Syrah and 25 percent Cabernet Sauvignon,"  Ierardi said. "It gets its name from its color, a deep, dark red. Soft tannins make this a great wine by itself, but has enough character to hold up to food as well.”

So if you are planning to have a glass of this wine with dinner, Ierardi recommended to pair it with a beef or pasta dish. He also noted this is a great everyday type of wine.

As for the region where this wine came from, Ierardi explained the grapes are sourced from the Sonoma and Central Coast.

Ierardi said people are drawn to this wine because it’s a good price, with an upscale look.

“What started out as a special $10.99 or 2/$20 has quickly become a staple of the store,” said Ierardi. “First all I am no Sommelier, but I personally love this wine. It’s very smooth and easy to drink.  A great wine to have socializing with friends. It needs nothing but a glass to be enjoyed.”

Hingham Liquors is located at: 118 North Street in Hingham.
