HINGHAM, MA — A Hull woman is facing charges of operating under the influence alcohol and drugs, and resisting arrest, after Hingham police said she drove her car into an unauthorized lot reserved for police personnel, hit the police station with her car and then became combative after failing a field sobriety test. Kimberly A. Bentley, 47, was held on bail Tuesday after being held overnight Monday at the Hingham station.

Hingham police said Bentley has a previous conviction of OUI from 2016.

Hingham police said on Monday afternoon an officer was walking to his cruiser when he saw Bentley drive her 1998 Chevy Blazer into the lot reserved for police personnel. The officer said Bentley drove into a parking space between two police vehicles and moved forward until she hit the building. The officer said she then walked to a locked door reserved for staff and attempted to open it.

Hingham police said the officer asked Bentley if she needed help and she spoke incoherently. Police said she changed her story several times — first saying State Police told her to go to the station, then that she was visiting family at the hospital, then that she was visiting a friend in West Roxbury, and finally that she was seeking marriage papers. Police said she told the officer she thought she was in West Roxbury — which is 26 miles from Hingham.

Police said her speech was slurred, her pupils were constricted and her eyes appeared blood shot. The officer said when he looked in the Chevy Blazer an empty beer can and several prescription bottles were visible. Police said Bentley admitted taking prescription drugs and drinking several small bottles of vodka before driving.
