• More black bear sightings reported, this time in another Mass. town (wcvb.com) — Holbrook residents should know that Holbrook/Avon Animal Control is tracking a roaming black bear that’s been spotted repeatedly in nearby Avon, Randolph, and now Stoughton. Officials urge people to keep their distance, secure trash and pet food, remove bird feeders, and report any sightings to local police, animal control, or state environmental officers. 
• Firefighters injured battling 3-alarm fire in Braintree (wcvb.com) — Holbrook firefighters were among several South Shore crews called to help battle a three-alarm house fire in East Braintree that left multiple firefighters with heat-related injuries. Residents and pets escaped safely, a trapped dog was rescued, and the blaze damaged a van and a neighboring home while officials continue investigating the cause.
