2 Charged In Armed Robbery Of Hopkinton Dunkin' Donuts

Two men were arrested following the robbery early Tuesday morning.

HOPKINTON, MA – Two men were arrested and charged in an early morning armed robbery Tuesday at a Hopkinton Dunkin' Donuts. Police said just before 5 a.m. a man entered the South Street restaurant with a knife and demanded money from the woman behind the counter. He fled with a small amount of cash, according to police.

The clerk was not harmed by the robber, police said.

At around 8 a.m., police responded to a call on Hayden Rowe Street, where there were multiple arrest warrants for the resident, 23-year-old Matthew Westbury. Officers arrested took Westbury into custody and allegedly found evidence linking him to the earlier robbery.

Police identified a second suspect, 21-year-old Jeffrey Leal, of Hopkinton, and arrested him in connection with the robbery.

Westbury will face charges of robbery while armed and masked and conspiracy and Leal has been charged with robbery while armed and masked, the use of a motor vehicle in the commission of felony and being an accessory before and after the fact. Both men are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
