2. Tonight at 8:30, Parks & Recreation's Movie Night on the Common presents Blindside with an Oscar-winning performance by Sandra Bullock in the true story of a determined mom and family who take in Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who goes on to become an All-American football player and first-round NFL draft pick. Rated PG-13.

3. Today is Eighth-Grade Step-up Day to Hopkinton High School, a big day in any teen's life, so it will be followed by the Hopkinton Middle School Eighth-Grade Celebration at 7 p.m. 

4. Today is the last day to buy a $50 ticket online to win a new BMW convertible from Wagner BMW that will be raffled off Sunday at Baypath's Bark in the Park. Tickets will be available Saturday and Sunday in person at the shelter or at Bark in the Park until the drawing. No more than 2,000 tickets will be sold. All money raised goes to support the shelter.

5. Saturday besides the at Hopkinton High School and the at Hopkinton State Park, the Hopkinton Historical Society, 168 Hayden Rowe St., will hold a yard sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will continue Sunday during those same hours.
