5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 21

A little late this morning because, well, just because. Here you go!

1. Friday, May 27 into Saturday, May 28 the Massachusetts State Police will conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint somewhere in Middlesex County, which includes Hopkton.  MSP says the purpose is to educate the motoring public and strengthen awareness of the need to detect and remove motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol, drugs or both. The checkpoint will operate during varied hours, vehicle selection will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and the MSP hopes that by announcing ahead of time there will be a checkpoint, anxiety and inconvenience to motorists will be minimized.

2. A new era starts on the Planning Board Monday night, May 23. Brian Karp and Christian Ollenborger join the board at 7:30 in Room 211.
