5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 27

1. This afternoon at 3 Scouts gather at Woodville's Evergreen Cemetery to replace flags on veterans graves. Coordinated by the American Legion. At 4, the Grand March at Hopkintn High School for the Junior Prom and at 6, the Prom.

2. Monday morning, May 30, there will be a 9:45 a.m. ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery, a 10:30 a.m. ceremony at the veterans memorial flagpole on Mayhew Street and a Memorial Day Parade beginning at 11:15 at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. The parade will march to the Town Common with veterans, fire trucks and  the Hopkinton High School band. There marchers and parade-goers will sing the National Anthem and a the flag will be raised at noon. Ceremonies include placing wreaths, gun salutes, speeches, Taps, prayers and readings. Refreshments follow at St. John’s Parish Center on Church Street. If it rains, services will be held at St. John's starting at 11.

3. Saturday the Hopkinton Parent Teacher Association holds its monthly bottle and can drive at Colella's from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

5. No school Monday. On Tuesday, during school hours, the Middle School Book Fair will be at Hopkinton Middle School.
