Ekphrasis is the use of vivid language to describe or respond to a work of art. Through ekphrasis, we can connect more deeply with the world around us and with ourselves. Our one-day ekphrastic workshop is a great opportunity to write something new and enjoy the spring season!
In this workshop, you will:
• Receive a tour from curator Jamaal Bonnette of the Creating Through It
• Spend dedicated time enjoying the art, selecting a piece to respond to, and writing about it
• Share your work with the class in a round of supportive feedback
• Decide if you’d like your work to become a part of the exhibit for the remainder of its run
Whether you’re a dedicated writer continuing your practice, trying to meet fellow local writers, or just looking for a nice way to enjoy the spring season, our ekphrastic workshop is a great opportunity to create art in a relaxing, supportive environment!
