Holliston resident Caleb Mahoney, Hopinkton Resident Julia Thissell graduate from The Rivers School in Weston

WESTON, MA— Holliston resident Caleb J. Mahoney was one of 93 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 10. An honor roll student, Caleb was also a member of the varsity football and lacrosse teams. He was named an All-League performer as a senior after being named an ISL Honorable Mention as a sophomore and junior. Caleb was also a member of Red Key, serving as an ambassador for the school to prospective families. The son of Angela and Stephen Lawless, Caleb will attend Ohio State in the fall.

Hopkinton resident Julia E. Thissell was one of 93 students to graduate from The Rivers School in Weston on Friday, June 10. Julia was a four-year member of the varsity girls’ basketball team and was named ISL All-League three times during her career. Her senior year, she received the girls’ basketball team’s Coaches’ Award and was nominated for the 2016 McDonald’s All-American Game. Off the court, Julia’s artwork received an honorable mention from the Scholastic Art Awards. She received the Kenneth F. Benjamin Citizenship Award in ninth grade. She helped raise funds for Keep Smilin’ 4 Abbie Foundation, which raises awareness for anaphylaxis issues and is named for a friend of hers who passed away suddenly in 2014 after an allergic reaction. The daughter of George and Lori Thissell, Julia will attend Providence College in the fall.
