Hopkinton Pet of the Week Elmer is a Love

Elmer is a very special boy.

He was spotted in the woods in western Massachusetts for several weeks before finally being caught.

Elmer was in very rough shape. He was fighting a bad infection, completely emaciated and loaded with ticks.

That's not the worst of it. Elmer, unfortunately, also has heartworm.

Baypath Humane Society, 5 Rafferty Rd., needs a special person to help Elmer through his heartworm treatment in the comfort of a home.

This boy is SUCH a sweetheart. He does not have a mean bone in his body.

He is skittish and shy with humans, but does wag his tail when he sees them. He is just slow to approach and not sure how to act when he's around them.

Elmer will need someone with a lot of patience. He absolutely LOVES the company of other dogs. He would do so well in a multi-dog household.

He must go to a home with a fenced-in yard since this guy loves to be outside. His favorite place to hide is in the bushes:)

Bark in the Park

First off, the chance to buy a $50 ticket to win a new BMW convertible online ends Friday, June 17. Tickets will be available in person at the shelter or at Bark in the Park until the drawing. No more than 2,000 tickets will be sold. All money raised goes to support the Baypath Animal Shelter. Thanks to Wagner BMW for partnering on this event!

The BMW winner will be announced (you don't have to be present) and there will be lots of other fun events at Baypath's Bark in the Park, Sunday, June 17, from 10 to 2 at Hopkinton State Park.
