Hopkinton's Joseph Bennett Appointed Police Chief

HOPKINTON, MA — There's a new chief in town, but not so new to the department. The Hopkinton Board of Selectmen appointed Deputy Police Chief Joseph Bennett to police chief on Tuesday night. Bennett has been with the department in several different positions for 25 years.
Bennett was promoted as the town's first-ever deputy police chief last year. The department used to have just two lieutenants under the police chief.
Bennett has held a variety of roles in the department, starting as a patrolman, to detective, sergeant and lieutenant. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice from Western New England University.
