Local Players, Coach Named Globe All-Scholastics

Check out who received the honors.

A number of Holliston High and Hopkinton High athletes earned honors in this year’s Boston Globe All-Scholastics.

For Holliston, it was the football team that raked in the recognition.

Nick Athy, a quarterback and defensive back, led his team to a Division 4 Super Bowl title and was awarded the Tri-Valley MVP award. He led Division 4 in scoring with 16 passing touchdowns and 28 rushing TDs.

Senior Michael Chipman, a starter on the offensive and defensive lines, was named the Tri-Valley League Lineman of the Year. He had 35 tackles and three sacks this season.

Zach Elkinson, senior wide receiver and running back, is a three-time Tri-Valley League All-Star. He rushed for 826 yards and had 737 receiving yards this season along with 20 touchdowns for the Panthers.

At Hopkinton High School, two volleyball players and their coach were recognized.

Coach Margie Grabmeier led her team to a Division 2 title in a 22-2 season. Player Holly Adams was named a Player of the Year with her 963 kills and senior Hanna Engstrom also earned honors.
