Man Hit By SUV After He Was Dropped Off by Uber Driver
The man reportedly dashed across the street to go home when a Hopkinton man, driving an SUV, struck him in the roadway.

WESTBOROUGH, MA —
Around 9:25 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, Westborough police headed to 175 Flanders Road where a pedestrian had been struck. A man, Joseph E. Laplante, 48, Flanders Road, Westborough was in the roadway suffering from serious injuries.
Laplante was transported to UMass Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police said that a 2013 Toyota SUV, operated by Warner D. Guild, 67, Rice Road, Hopkinton, struck Laplante. The driver was not injured.

According to a witness, who was an Uber driver, he picked Laplante up at a local restaurant and brought him home. Laplante requested to be dropped off opposite of his residence due to construction to his driveway. He ran across the roadway in front of the Toyota, said police.
