It was a great day from start to finish for graduates, parents and families on Sunday afternoon.
held its commencement exercises Sunday afternoon in the high school field house.
Principal Michael Cournoyer gave the welcoming address, encouraging the graduates to bring a little bit of Holliston with them.
Superintendent Bradford Jackson then presented Assistant Superintendent Timothy Cornely with a diploma, making him an honoree graduate of the Holliston High Class of 2011. Cornely is retiring after 35 years in the district.

Salutatorian Rachel Pollinger spoke about competition, saying it "brings out the best in us.”
Valedictorian Anooj Patel got the audience laughing with his opening remarks, quoting an old Jerry Seinfeld line regarding the fear of public speaking being greater than the fear of death: “You’re better off in the casket than giving the eulogy.”

Patel’s message to his peers was clear. Identify what makes you happy, take risks, try different things and plan to be adaptable to change.
After a "wardrobe malfunction," Class President Brittany Burke reminded the graduates to never settle for average.
