Police News: A Bench Where You Don't Want To Sit

Monday, June 27, 9:37 a.m.

Highway Supervisor reported a confused man in the Mount Auburn Cemetery garage. Officer Griffin and Lt. Wallace responded. The man was someone they knew. His car had broken down in the cemetery. They contacted his family.

3:30 p.m. – A Hopkins Road caller reported a dispute with a tow-truck driver. Officers McNeil and Booth and Sgt. Sutton responded and resolved the argument.

5:07 – Main Street caller reported youths loitering and smoking (in apparent violation of new town bylaw). Officer Booth responded but the youths were gone when he arrived.

8:15 – A Main Street caller said there were no construction-warning signs in a bad area. Sgt. Sutton responded.

9:51 – A caller said there was an erratic operator on Main Street. Officer Booth checked to the town line but did not find the driver.

9:55 – Officer McNeil found a bench in the road on Ash Street. He removed it.
