Registration Open For Summer Programs at Rivers

Rivers offers a wide variety of academic and athletic programming during the summer months.

Looking ahead to making plans for your children this summer? The Rivers School in Weston is offering an exciting and expanded array of academic and athletic programs this summer. An innovative mix of online and on-campus academic programs is offered for students in grades 6-12, and classes cover topics like Innovation & Design, Entrepreneurship, and New Media & Digital Identity. Athletic programs, open to middle and upper school students, include football, soccer, and basketball. Enrollment in all programs is open to the public.

Taught by outstanding teachers from the Rivers faculty, the goals of the academic programs are to
• engage passionate students
• strengthen academic skills
• explore new material
• challenge students to think critically
• inspire lifelong learners

Online academic courses include: New Media and Digital Identity (students entering grades 10, 11, 12); Epidemics, Pandemics, & The Human Battle Against Infectious Disease (entering grades 11 and 12); Experiential Writing (entering grades 11 and 12); The Art of Writing: Practice and Precision (entering grade 10); and Topics in Economics (students who have competed Algebra 2).

Courses being offered on the Rivers campus include: Exploring Mathematics (entering grades 6, 7, 8); Foundations of Algebra 1 (entering grades 8 and 9); Innovation and Design (entering grades 8, 9, 10); Summer Arts (entering grades 7, 8, 9); Business Planning: Entrepreneurship in Action (grades 11, 12, and 10 with recommendation); Writing Workshop (entering grades 6, 7, 8, 9); and Computer Programming (entering grades 10, 11, 12).

Athletic programs take place on the Weston campus which has a turf field and an indoor field house for practice in inclement weather. Programs include Boys' Soccer Skills and Strengthening Program (middle and high school); Youth Football Clinic at The Rivers School (middle school); Girls' Six-on-Six Soccer Program (high school); Girls' Basketball Skills and Strengthening Program (middle and high school); and Boys' Basketball Skills and Strengthening Program (middle and high school).
