Residents may experience discolored water or lower than normal pressure as hydrants are flushed. If you experience discolored water, flush your system by opening cold water faucet for a few minutes. If the water is still not clear the flushing procedure should be repeated in an hour. During periods of discoloration, postpone washing clothes and limit your use of hot water until the cold water clears. Please note that if your area is not actually being flushed that day, you may still experience discolored water.
Flushing is necessary to improve water quality and ensure proper hydrant operation. We attempt to schedule flushing in a manner that minimizes customer disruptions.
