The Learning Center in Hopkinton Has a Day in the Sun

The Learning Center of Hopkinton had an outer space-themed graduation and awards ceremony Thursday, with older kids dressed as Men in Black, younger kids wearing stars, moons and planets on their shirts and the staff (and some kids) decked out in bobbing antennae.

The afternnon was hosted by Buzz Lightyear, aka TLC Director Tricia Miller, and included the graduation of 12 - count 'em 'cause the move fast - preschoolers who will go to kindergarten next year.

The Wood Street school has a before-school and after-school clubhouse for children of school age, infant programs, toddler programs, pre-school programs and a program for children already in kindergarten who want to extend their school-time to a full day.

Many, many children and staff were honored and everyone was thanked yesterday as families and friends sat in TLC's shady back yard, enjoying a well-rehearsed and entertaining show!

Hopkinton Patch tried to get a photo of every child but some moved so darn fast - as fast as athletes at some of the sporting events we have covered - that they were come and gone before we could snap their photos.

For those we missed, we apologize. For the pictures whose focus we'll politely call "soft," well, even if the photos aren't perfect, the looks on the children's faces always were.
