Three-Alarm Holliston Fire Rages For Hours Before Extinguished
Crews found piles of e-waste on fire in an industrial building.
HOLLISTON, MA — An industrial warehouse fire on Tuesday took fire crews almost twelve hours to extinguish with the help of neighboring fire departments. The fire was reported in a warehouse on Cross street at 12:45 p.m. and was designated under control at 10:27 p.m.
When Holliston fire crews got to the scene they found a pile of e-waste on fire — employees in the business tried to put the fire out themselves with a portable fire extinguisher. One employee was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire escalated to three-alarms even as crews tried aggressive suppression and ventilation operations. Nine other fire departments helped get the blaze under control.
