Weston Nurseries Garden Center employees Nancy Cassidy and Pedro Rodriguez made this Bruins logo Thursday out of a combination of perennial stepables and annuals, Cassidy said.
They are White Blue Star Creeper (Isotoma Fluviatilis), Black Scallop Bugleweed (Ajuga reptans) and Samantha Lantana. (Weren't they the No. 3 line for the '96 Hartford Whalers?)
Cassidy said she plans to leave the plants in place until Sunday morning, after Saturday's Bruins victory parade in Boston. The parade will start at 11 a.m. at TD Banknorth Garden, head up Staniford Street, turn left onto Cambridge Street, which becomes Tremont, then take a right at Boylston Street straight into Copley Square.

The parade route will be closed and cleared of parked vehicles starting at 9 a.m. and remain closed through 1 p.m. The Red Sox moved their Saturday afternoon game against the Brewers to 7 p.m. to ease expected traffic. The Bruins will be guests of the Red Sox at Fenway for Sunday's 1:30 game against Milwaukee.
Weston Nurseries President Peter Mezitt, a longtime hockey fan, had an assist on the logo!
