What’s going to be the future for Massachusetts?

Right now, we have two United States Senators who are not getting the job done for the Commonwealth. Senator Markey is a back bencher with no real accomplishments. The chances are slim that he will step forward to lead on any significant issue. He has had a couple of years to make an impact and so far nothing.

Our senior Senator Elizabeth Warren, while not my choice over Scott Brown, was elected with the highest of hopes. Unfortunately, it seems ever since being sworn into office her focus has been on the national stage rather than representing the best interest of Massachusetts.

She rarely talks to local reporters. She doesn’t hold town hall meetings. If we want to see our Senator, we need a CNN press pass.

Her accomplishments are limited. In fact, Scott Brown has passed more legislation than she has in 4 times the amount of time he had in office.

Worse yet, Warren is nonstop ranting about President Donald Trump and the Republican Congress. Whether you like or dislike Trump, he is the President for the next four years. Warren’s never ending attacks are ensuring that there is no chance she can get anything done. Warren refuses to compromise or ever propose a positive solution. She has doomed our state to be an outcast in Washington.

Our Senator doesn’t seem to know that the election is over. Now is the time to get to work.

Warren has constantly put politics ahead of state. Enough is enough. We need a new Senator who will work for the Commonwealth. That’s why I am hoping Rep. Geoff Diehl will run.

Rep. Diehl has significant accomplishments. He was the co-chairman of the effort to repeal automatic gas tax hikes. That saved taxpayers $2 billion. Every time we fill up we can thank Geoff that our gas taxes have not increased 3 times over the past 3 years!

Geoff Diehl has actually saved taxpayers over $12 billion. Two years ago, he single-handedly blocked the legislative pay raises saving $36 million. He also formed the bipartisan coalition to prohibit tax dollars for the Olympics. That saved us another $10 billion.

Geoff has done all this as a State Representative. Can you imagine what he can get done for us in Washington?

Warren has doomed Massachusetts. It is time for a new Senator who will put Massachusetts first. Geoff Diehl is the real deal.
