Eleanor Bogan Kelley, former JP Resident, Dies at Age 97
Former JP resident and long-time teacher dies January 12 at the Life Care Center in Plymouth.
Eleanor Bogan Kelley of Plymouth, formerly of Jamaica Plain, Needham and Chestnut Hill, on January 12, 2011 at Life Care Center in Plymouth. The beloved wife of the late Ferdinand T. Kelley was 97.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Boston on September 26, 1913, the daughter of Dr. Frederick L. Bogan and Katherine L. (Spillane) Bogan.
Mrs. Kelley graduated from the old Girl's Latin School in 1932 and from Boston Teacher's College in 1936. In 1937, she also obtained a Master's Degree in Education from Boston’s Teacher’s College in 1937.

Mrs. Kelley was a schoolteacher who taught at City of Boston schools. She also taught at the Girl's Latin School and was Head of its Art Department for many years. Mrs. Kelley’s students and colleagues remember her fondly.
Mrs. Kelley was a loving mother to Ferdinand T. Kelley and his wife, Cynthia of Duxbury, and Frederick B. Kelley of Plymouth. She was also mother-in-law to Mary H. Kelley of Hanover. Mrs. Kelley was the grandmother of Brian P. Kelley of Weymouth, Sean G. Kelley of Hanover, Colin F. Kelley and his wife Carrie of Paget Parish, Bermuda and Patrick W. Kelley of South Boston. Mrs. Kelley is also survived by her brother Frederick L. Bogan, Jr. of West Roxbury.

Funeral Mass was held on Monday in St. Peter's Church in Plymouth. Funeral services were at the Cartmell Funeral Home in Plymouth. Interment was at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be made to Catholic Charities of Boston, 51 Sleeper St., Boston MA 02210.
