Ernest “Ernie” Pateras of JP Dies at Age 85.
Long-time JP resident and Korean War veteran spent his last 20 years working for his family's business at Fenway Park.
Ernest “Ernie” Pateras, a resident of Jamaica Plain since 1985, died Wednesday, February 2, in Stoughton after a long illness. Mr. Pateras leaves his wife of 49 years Helen (Theodorakos) Pateras, his two children and numerous grandchildren. He was 85.
Mr. Pateras was born and raised in Boston. He was the son of the late Harry & Garafalea (Botsekas) Peteras. He was the brother of the late Charlie, Danny, and Georgia Pateras. Mr. Pateras served briefly in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Pateras worked as a salesman for many different companies throughout his life. During the last 20 years he worked at Fenway Park assisting the family business Sausage Connection, one of the park’s vendors.

Mr. Pateras is survived by his wife of 49 years Helen (Theodorakos) Pateras of Jamaica Plain. He is also survived by his son Harry Pateras, and his wife Zoe, of Dedham, and his daughter Fontina “Tina” Kelley, and her husband Joseph, of Waltham. Mr. Pateras is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher A. and Elena J. Kelley, and Eleni F. and Harry A. Pateras.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday at Saint Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church in Roslindale. Interment was at Mount Hope Cemetery in Boston. Folsom Funeral Home in Roslindale provided funereal services.
