• Jamaica Plain Resident Joins Veterans at CVS Red Sox Camp
Jamaica Plain resident Charles Beck hit the diamond at Fenway Park on July 1 for a day honoring New England veterans. Beck, the community relations coordinator for the New England Center and Home for Veterans, had his swing critiqued by Red Sox Hitting Coach Chili Davis and Assistant Hitting Coach Victor Rodriguez, took a few shots at the Green Monster and enjoyed lunch in the Sox dugout alongside 26 veterans at the CVS Health Baseball Camp.
• Jamaica Plain Among 'Coolest' Boston Neighborhoods
Move over, Fonzie. Jamaica Plain is the new cool in town. The neighborhood was one of four hotspots to be named Boston's coolest neighborhoods, according to a June report from commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.

• WATCH: Jamaica Plain Resident Competes in Blue Man Group 'Drum-Off'
A Jamaica Plain resident is one of five finalists to compete in this year's Blue Man Group Boston Drum-Off. Jarrell Campbell, a Houston, TX native and current student at Berklee College of Music, was chosen from a pool of 35 competitors to perform July 16 at the Outside the Box festival.
• Jamaica Plain Man Arrested on Gun, Pot Charges
A 23-year-old Jamaica Plain man was arrested on marijuana possession and weapons charges Saturday after police interrupted an alleged drug deal. Officers were on patrol inside the Bromley Heath Housing Development Saturday night after several residents reported gang and drug related activities in the area.
