The Olmsted Place Apartments, in Jamaica Plain, are now on the market after three years of development, Boston.com reports.
Housing developer, Boston Residential Group, had successfully obtained a permit to build its apartment complex, but those plans came to a screeching halt after outcries of opposition from Jamaica Plain residents.

The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council, and Boston Residential Group, were forced to settle a lawsuit before construction was allowed to begin.
The project was planned in a location that would required the destruction of the Home for Little Wanders complex. The two sides eventually reached an agreement in November of 2013 after squelching differing views.

As part of the agreement, the developer agreed to make portions of the complex significantly more affordable and large enough to house a family.
The new apartments are expected to be ready and available for living by Fall 2015. The building comes equipped with an outdoor pool, coffee lounge and fitness center, among other luxurious amenities.
