Meeting to Stop Threat to West Roxbury Neighborhood

High Pressure Pipeline Worries West Roxbury Residents: Info Gathering on Wed. Dec. 3 at Irish Social Club

A part of Boston is scrambling to stay safe. Spectra Energy, a company from Houston, TX, has proposed a high pressure fracked gas pipeline and metering station to be installed along Centre and Grove Streets in West Roxbury only feet away from an active quarry where explosive blasts are regular occurrences. This is a recipe for potential disaster and tomorrow evening at 6:30-8:30 pm, Mark McDonald, national natural gas expert, will share his insights about this situation and answer questions. This event is organized by a group of local concerned citizens who created the Committee to Stop the West Roxbury Lateral Pipeline (as it is referred to by Spectra). If you are reading this notice and are a resident of West Roxbury, please be sure to come to this meeting and let your friends know about it, too. A few years ago there was a horrible natural gas explosion in San Bruno, CA that could have been avoided. The main comment everyone had on their minds was, “Why didn’t we know about this?” Be informed - don’t let West Roxbury turn into a case of not knowing!

Join us at the Irish Social Club, Wed. Dec. 3rd, 6:30-8:30 pm, 119 Park Street, West Roxbury.
