The shooter's mother passed away in November.

Boston police confirmed there was a shooting at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Tuesday morning.

NECN reported Pasceri’s sister and brother said Wednesday they were shocked by his actions and believe he held Davidson responsible for the November death of their mother, who had heart and lung problems.
“I’ll give you the short version,” said Marguerite Joly, Pasceri’s sister, to the Boston Herald. “He was mad at the doctor who operated on my mother. He blamed him for her death. And so, instead of filing a malpractice suit, he went and killed the guy.”
