1. Woman Hospitalized After Crash (959watd.com) — Emergency crews in Kingston rushed to Main Street Sunday after a 21-year-old scooter rider was struck by a car and briefly left unresponsive. Kingston Police, a passing nurse practitioner, and Kingston Fire provided CPR and life-saving care before she awoke and was taken to the hospital; the driver stayed on scene, and investigators report no evidence of reckless driving.
   

2. Man charged with hate crime after alleged assault outside Kingston convenience store (boston25news.com) — Kingston police say a man was brutally assaulted amid racial slurs at the Cumberland Farms on Main Street, leaving the victim with serious injuries including a suspected compound fracture. Officers arrested a 46-year-old Carver man, who allegedly continued yelling slurs and profanity at police and hospital staff; he now faces multiple assault and hate-crime-related charges and remains in custody pending an October court date.
   

3. HOLD PLEASE! to Premiere at True Repertory Theatre (broadwayworld.com) — A new play, “Hold Please!”, is coming to Beal House on Main Street in Kingston this October, offering locals six chances to see a homegrown True Repertory Theatre production. The show draws on Artistic Director Donald Sheehan’s long battle with kidney disease and aims to inspire conversations about resilience and organ donation, with $25 tickets available online or at the door.
   

4. Kingston Man Sentenced After Gunning Down Roommate on the Stairs in Senseless Mansfield Slaying (newbedfordguide.com) — A 25-year-old Kingston man has been sentenced to life in prison, with parole eligibility after 22 years, for fatally shooting his roommate in a Mansfield home in 2023. Prosecutors detailed how the victim was gunned down on the stairs, the weapon was later recovered in a nearby brook, and the defendant, who has a history of mental illness and prior firearms offenses, admitted to the killing on cruiser video.
   

5. Beverly Joyce Breed Hovey, 90 (duxburyclipper.com) — Kingston readers are being notified that arrangements for longtime South Shore resident Beverly Joyce Breed Hovey are under the care of Shepherd Funeral Home in town. Beverly, remembered for her devotion to family, community work in Duxbury, and love of animals, leaves a large extended family and many friends; a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
