How did Lexington's results compare to the rest of the county?

LEXINGTON, —Businessman Donald Trump and Secretary Hillary Clinton took the overall prize in the Commonwealth, but how did they do on a more local level?

According to data aggregated by the New York Times, Trump won every county in Massachusetts with at least 40 percent of the Republican vote. However, Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders seemed to split the counties down the middle, with Clinton winning the more populous regions of the state.

As we already know, Clinton took approximately 64 percent of the Lexington vote on the Democratic ticket. Clinton also took 51.8 percent of the vote in Middlesex County, a number that is consistent with her performance in town.

Trump's county totals are actually improved over his results in Arlington, as he earned 46.8 percent of the county vote while only earning approximately 32 percent in town.

In Middlesex County, Trump is trailed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich (20.5 percent), Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (19.3 percent) and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (8.7 percent). Clinton leads Sanders, who carries 47 percent of the county vote.
