6+ Inches of Snow Possible for Lexington This Weekend

The heavy, wet snow will be accompanied by rain. Exact accumulations were still unclear.

A significant snowfall—which has been a rare occurrence so far this winter—is in the works for Lexington.

Six or more inches is possible Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a hazardous weather alert.

NWS said the most snow will hit central Massachusetts. Surrounding areas will get rain. Exact accumulations were still unclear.

“A brief but intense thump of snow is possible Saturday afternoon-evening,” said WHDH meteorologist Jeremy Reiner. “The exact track isn’t known so rain/snow lines are the amount of snow isn’t known either but a plowable snow does appear possible for metro Boston late day Saturday.”
