8th Annual ProStart Invitational

Massachusetts Restaurant Association Hosts 8th Annual ProStart Invitational Showcasing Top Tier Talent from Local High Schools

The Massachusetts Restaurant Association Educational Foundation will host the 8th Annual ProStart Invitational at the North Reading Hillview Country Club on Tuesday, March 3 where ten area high schools will compete in culinary and restaurant management matches. Competitors include Barnstable High School (Barnstable), Carver High School (Carver), Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School (Franklin), Nantucket High School (Nantucket), Taunton High School (Taunton), Minuteman Career and Technical High School (Lexington), Wachusett Regional High School (Holden), J.P. Keefe Technical High School (Framingham), Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School (Haverhill) and Attleboro High School (Attleboro).

Both culinary and management competitions will run instantaneously between 8:30AM and 1:30PM, showcasing student’s culinary ability to create dishes and demonstrate their knowledge of the restaurant and foodservice industries.

Judging will be conducted by seasoned industry vets including Restaurateur Bob Wong of Kowloon, Owner Joe Piantedosi of Piantedosi Bread Shoppe and more. The judging will be followed by an awards ceremony where scholarship funds will be distributed to students in support of their aspirations of becoming future food and beverage professionals of Massachusetts.
