UPDATE: Wilson Farm's Dinner in the Field Postponed to Next Week
It's the first "Dinner in the Field" of the season, and first for the farm's new chef, Jeff Peters.
UPDATE: Wilson Farm's first "" of the 2012 season, originally schedule for tonight, Thursday, June 21, has been postponed until next Thursday, June 28.
The dinner will be held at the same time, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and location.
According to a Wilson's spokesperson, the decision to delay the dinner was made due to the here in Massachusetts. Today's forecast calls for a high of 98, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight, when lows will only get down to 72, according to the National Weather Service.

It’s hard to imagine a meal more “farm fresh” than one eaten right on the farm, in the field. And locavores are offered exactly that – along with the chance to support cancer research – this Thursday at ’s first “Dinner in the Field” of the season.
According to Wilson Farm, the meal five-course meal will include many ingredients harvested just inches from the dining table. In addition to being the first “Dinner in the Field” of the season, it will be the first with the farm’s new executive chef, Jeff Peters.
The menu begins with crab-stuffed zucchini flowers and progresses to watermelon and pear squares stacked and topped with microgreens and gorgonzola, fresh ricotta and mint ravioli and then a cardamom and almond encrusted lamb rack with pomegranate gastric. Dessert is a strawberry rhubarb compote over sponge cake with Barvarian cream.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Pan Mass Challenge and will benefit cancer research through Dana-Farber.
Cost is $125 per person (tax deductible) and few seats remain open, a Wilson Farm spokesperson said Monday. Swing by the farm during business hours or call 781-862-3900 to reserve your seat.
